PAR is proud of our ongoing relationship with United Way.
Earlier this month, PAR staff took part in our annual fundraising campaign. For more than 20 years, 100% of staff members have contributed during our annual United Way drive. This year was no different. We exceeded our fundraising goal, resulting in employee contributions of $90,402.74 being donated to United Way to help continue its mission of helping others in our community. With match and challenge donations, that brings our 2017 United Way campaign total to $136,604.11!

Based on data collected for the SDS Form R, 5th Edition (2013), the gold standard in career personality assessment has been rebranded, repackaged, and refreshed! The staff at PAR are so touched! So many Customers have reached out to offer support as we recover from Hurricane Irma. Although it looked like PAR would be directly in the eye of the storm, we were so fortunate that by the time the storm got to us, it was much weaker than we anticipated. We were so very fortunate that our staff was safe and no one’s home sustained major damage. PAR is committed to supporting the valuable work instructors do in educating students on the most up-to-date, research-based assessment tools available. As a part of that commitment, we created the University Partnership Program (UPP).
The UPP is PAR’s free concierge service for universities. The program is dedicated to assisting instructors and their students as they pursue advanced degrees.
When a university joins the UPP, they receive a dedicated UPP Specialist who serves as their single point of contact. This Specialist will serve as their gateway to all the advantages the UPP has to offer. This includes features such as complimentary assessment tools, discounts for students and professors, and product-focused presentations that can be used to guide instruction.
The UPP takes on tasks that can give instructors time—time that can be invested in students.

You can now earn CEU credits on select PAR assessments through our partnership with the Global Institute of Forensic Research (GIFR). These on-demand courses are available through the GIFR Web site. Continuing education credits are available from more than 150 state, provincial, and national boards to support professional licensure and license renewal. Trainings are delivered by the authors or developers of each respective instrument or by a certified trainer, giving you extra insight into the measure.

The new SDS Web site, which launched this week, features a look and feel that brings a contemporary touch to the gold-standard instrument for career assessment. It features interactive graphics, intuitive navigation, and a more user-friendly experience.

The SDS is based on Dr. John Holland’s theory, known as the RIASEC theory, that both people and working environments can be classified according to six basic types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.
The theory is based on the idea that if your personality type (SDS Summary Code) matches your work environment type (Holland Occupational Code), you are more likely to find job fulfillment and career satisfaction. So if you are looking for a job, want a career change, or are searching for a program of study, knowing more about what types of potential careers fit your personality will greatly improve your search.
After completing the 20-minute online assessment, users will receive one of three reports based on their demographics and job history: The StandardSDS, StudentSDS, or VeteranSDS. All feature the user’s Summary Code along with a list of occupations and programs of study based on that code, a list of occupations based on the user’s daydream occupations, an overview of salary data, and links to resources to assist with educational and career planning.
